Two-year RI for IAS in disproportionate assets case
New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) A Special CBI court today sentenced an IAS officer to three years rigorous imprisonment in a disproportionate assets case.
Special Judge (CBI) G P Mittal, in his order, also slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on G P Sewalia, an IAS official of the '74 batch.
During investigations, assets worth Rs 35.64 lakh were recovered from his possession in Delhi and Arunachal Pradesh.
However, of these the CBI was able to establish disproportionate assets worth Rs four lakh.
Sewalia had served between 1974-99.
