Two women among seven arrested; four cases solved
Mumbai, Nov 17 (UNI) Detection Unit of the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police's Zone-III have solved four cases including robbery, murder, theft and kidnapping and arrested seven persons including two women in this regard.
Addressing mediapersons at his maiden press conference here today, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone-III Dr P V Ugale said the detection unit of his zone had solved four cases.
Dr Ugale said police successfully nabbed Mahesh alias Anna Shrirang Kamble, former driver of Hemant Pichad who had allegedly stolen Rs four lakh from the house of Mr Pichad, while he (Pichad) had gone to his native place for Diwali Vacation. Rs three lakh has been recovered from the stolen amount.
A murder case under the jurisdiction of Agripada Police station was solved and accused Ajgarali Mohammed Mansuri was arrested within 12 hours of crime that occurred on November 13. During interrogation the accused Mansuri said deceased Ajgar Mansur Mansuri (20) had illicit relationship with a woman, whom he (accused) loved.
Two women-- Kumushi Salve (25) and Manisha Ajar - were arrested on charges of kidnapping and looting a 50-year-old person on November 10. The accused kidnapped a person from Agripada and took him to Girgaon Chaowpatty where they snatched Rs 1,100 cash from his possession after assaulting him. They were arrested on the basis of the first name of one of the accused provided by the victim.
Police also arrested three persons on charges of snatching a mobile phone near the busy Big Bazar area at Lower Parel in South Central Mumbai on November 6. The accused have been identified as Tabaraq Ali Tazmull Ali alias Babu, Mohmmed Altaf Sheikh alias Tafu and Rahees Abdul Rehman.
The Metropolitan Magistrate has remanded all the accused to police custody till November 23, police added.
