Tomar to become state BJP President
Bhopal, Nov 17 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Panchayat and Rural Development Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar is set to be elected as the next President of the state BJP and the challenge before him would be to continue with his excellent performance in the organisation as he did in the ministry.
''After elimination process, two names were left for the state BJP President's post. While one was that of Mr Tomar, the other was that of MP and party general secretary Thawarchand Gehlot,'' party sources said.
Since it was felt that Mr Gehlot was more needed in New Delhi, the obvious choice was Mr Tomar. The election of state BJP President on November 20 will be a mere formality now.
A close confidante of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Mr Tomar will replace Mr Satyanarain Jatiaor.
The party high command had shown green signal to Mr Tomar with a view to establishing better coordination between the party and the organisation.
Mr Tomar will soon resign from the ministry and speculations have begun regarding ministry re-shuffle.
