Ten killed in clash over land

Lucknow, Nov 17 (UNI) At least ten people were killed and several injured in a clash over a piece of land between two families at Sitapur, near here, this morning.

Unofficial reports, however, put the death toll at 15.

Police said the clash occurred between two Brahmin families following a land dispute at Than village under Mehmudabad police station.

Both sides used firearms which resulted in the deaths.

Senior police officials have rushed to the scene.

The situation in the area is tense but under control, police added.
