Teledata, Motorola bag big deal from MP Govt

Indore, Nov 17: Teledata Informatics, software solutions provider, has bagged a Rs 300-crore deal along with Motorola from the Madhya Pradesh government to provide rural wireless broadband connectivity in the state.

As per the MoU, the villages would be connected to the district headquarters and the state capital through a wireless broadband.

The company proposes to invest Rs 150 crore to establish infrastructure to provide connectivity at selected points in Bhopal and about 200 points in rural areas and expects revenues of Rs 60 crore per anum from the project, it said in a statement here today.

This phase will also include development of complete ecosystem of IT applications, services and logistics with the first phase likely to be operational in six months from the date of signing the MoU.

In the first phase, Teledata Informatics will establish a SPV (Specific Project Venture) in Madhya Pradesh and an operating hub in the state capital to undertake the project.

The infrastructure so established will be used for offering many other value added services to rural population thus helping bridge the digital divide.
