Task Force to ensure proper

New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) Delhi Government today decided to constitute a task force of Senior Principal Secretaries which will develop an effective mechanism to ensure time-bound utilisation of plan funds.

The task force would also review the works at regular intervals and overcome problem of delay in execution of such projects, a statement said.

The decision was taken in a high-level review meeting chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. It was attended by state Finance, Transport, Health and Education Ministers, and senior officials from Public Works Department, Power, Transport. Education, Higher Education, Training and Technical Education, Health, Social Welfare, Urban Development and Municipal Corporation of Delhi, New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Jal Board.

Ms Dikshit exhorted officers to initiate combined efforts and ensure better coordination among all departments concerned and avoid tendency of shifting responsibilities.

She asked them to ensure maximum utilisation before submiting new projects relating to infrastructure development.

Ms Dikshit instructed senior officers to chalk out an internal action plan to utilise plan funds in a phased manner.

The Chief Minister also instructed them to initiate a scheme for preparation of Detailed Project Reports on the lines of an existing scheme in the Planning Commission.

This would go a long way in scientific formulation of development schemes, she added.
