Spl officers appointed to monitor rural schools: Shajahan
Puducherry, Nov 17 (UNI) In a bid to enhance the quality of education in rural schools on par with urban schools, the Puducherry administration has appointed special officers to monitor the rural schools, Education Minister M O H F Shajahan today.
Inaugurating a new school building here, Mr Shajahan said the special officers would monitor the attendance of the students, their learning capacity, teaching methods of teachers, environment of the school and take necessary steps to enhance the quality of education.
The Puducherry Board of Education had prepared syllabus for LKG and UKG classes and LKG and UKG classes would be started in all rural schools next year under the new syllabus. Trained teachers would be posted in all these schools, he said adding that under the new syllabus, there would be no book burden for children and it would be a playway method of education.
In the last six months 600 teachers were appointed and more teachers would be appointed soon so that there would be no scarcity of teachers and the quality of education in government schools could be brought on par with private schools, he said.
The government was according priority to education and more funds were being allocated for it. Steps were being taken to introduce computer education in primary classes here, he added.
