'Sangeetha Samarat' Award to Veteran Mrudang Player T K Murthy

Mangalore, Nov 17 (UNI) The National 'Sangeet Samrat' Award would be conferred to veteran Mrudang Player T K Murthy at a three-day 'Sangeethotsava' beginning here from November 24, Sangeetha Parishat of Mangalore Secretary Nityadhar Rao said today.

Talking to newsmen here, he said that during the 'Sangeethotsava' organised jointly by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Dr Mani Brishnaswamy Music Foundation and Mangalore University, eight top musicians including Neyvelli Santhagopalan, S Shankar, O S Tyagarajan and Shashank would perform.

Mr Rao said that three senior artists in the field of Art and Music would be felicitated on the occasion.
