Punjab Cabinet approves new land acquisition policy

Chandigarh, Nov 17 (UNI) Punjab Cabinet today approved the new land acquisition policy so as to make the acquisition of land more transparent.

This decision was taken at a meeting of the cabinet held here under the chairmanship of Chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

Under the new policy it has been proposed that the market value of the land to be acquired would be determined within a period of three months from the date of issue of notification (for acquiring the land) by the government.

This decision was taken by the cabinet on the recommendations of a committee of ministers and administrative secretaries that was formed by the government for this purpose.
