Punjab Cabinet approves City Transport project
Chandigarh, Nov 17 (UNI) The Punjab Cabinet today approved an ambitious City Transport project for the three most densely populated cities of Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Amritsar.
Under phase-II of this project the cities of Bathinda and Patiala would be covered.
The Cabinet also approved to waive off the penal interest of interest free loans given under the Punjab draft industrial policy, 1973 and under the Punjab Industrial Policy, 1978.
Approval was also given to increase the salary of Computer Teachers from Rs 4500 per month to Rs 7000 per month on contractual basis under ICT programme.
The Council of Ministers also gave approval for the upgradation of Nangal sub-tehsil to a sub division in district Ropar.The sub division would consist of two Kanungo circles namely Nangal and Naya Nangal, 20 Patwar Circles and 92 revenue villages.
The Cabinet also gave approval for the collaboration of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University with the University of Saskatchewan and with Purdue University to undertake research in the field of veterinary diagnostic imaging, equine medicine , surgery and reproduction, small animal practice, infectious diseases and disease surveillance, vaccine production, animal biotechnology and immunology, animal reproduction breeding and nutrition, scientists and graduate student exchange, meat processing, cost effective dairy and poultry farming.
The meeting also approved to enhance the payment of remuneration of village chowkidars from Rs 600 per month to Rs 700 per month with effect from January one last year.
