Protest against Rajapakshe: MDMK workers held
Chennai, Nov 17: Over 1000 MDMK volunteers led by their general secretary Vaiko were taken into custody today when they attempted to defy police prohibitory orders and take out a procession to the Sri Lankan Deputy High Commission protesting against the visit of Lankan President M Rajapakshe to India.
Those held included party presidium chairman L Ganesan, MP.
Before courting the arrest. MDMK workers shouted slogans against the Sri Lankan Government and stressed that the Centre should not allow Mr Rajapakshe anywhere in India.
