Police kill 3 gangster in encounter

Mumbai, Nov 17 (UNI) Three gangsters were killed in an encounter with police this morning at Killagawthan, near Uran Phata, Navi Mumbai.

Acting on a tip-off that the three gangsters would be coming to rob a petrol pump near Uran pata in Navi Mumbai, a crime detection squad laid a trap. When the trio reached the spot in a car at around 0630 hrs, police challenged them and asked them to surrender.

However, they paid no heed to the police and opened fire. The police team in retaliation, shot them, police said.

The trio - Shiva Gonda, Ghushi Marwadi and Bapu Poojari were rushed to Navi Mumbai civil hospital, where the doctors declared them dead before admission, police added.

They were wanted in several cases of robbery, murder, attempt-to- murder, extortion and others.
