Plea against bail to Jr. Barnala in rape case

Chandigarh, Nov 17 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Rajiv Bhalla today issued notice for December 11 to Chandigarh Administration, the city police and other respondents on a plea to cancel the bail granted to Akali MLA Gaganjit Singh Barnala in a rape case registered against him.

The rape victim, Mr Barnala's maid servant, has filed the prayer apprehending attempts to influence the proceedings in the lower court.

Mr Barnala, the son of Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, had been granted bail after being in prison for two weeks.
