Patil administers National Integration Pledge

New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) Home Minister Shivraj Patil today administered the National Integration Pledge to the officers and staff of the Home Ministry to foster the spirit of patriotism, communal harmony and national integration in them.

Employees of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances&Pensions and the Department of Justice also took part in the pledge taking ceremony which was held in connection with Quami Ekta Week being observed every year from November 19 to November 25.

The National Foundation for Communal Harmony, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Home Affairs would be observing the 'Communal Harmony Campaign and Fund Raising Week' to coincide with the Quami Ekta Week.

The National Foundation of communal harmony has been set up to raise funds for the rehabilitation of child victims of communal, caste or ethnic violence and for promotion of communal harmony, national integration and fraternity.
