No decision on private sector quoa:Cong
New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) The Congress today said that no decision had been taken as yet on enacting a legislation making it obligatory for the private sector to provide quota of reservation in job to the SC,ST and OBC .
''The stage for saying yes or no to whether a legislation will be enacted for the purpose has not come as yet,"Congress Spokesman Abhiashek Singhvi said.
He told reporters here that the Congress was for the private sector voluntarily coming forward to provide reservation in jobs to the disempowered and disadvantaged sections of society. If the private sector moves forward in this direction, legislation or thing would be of academic interest,he added.
''The Congress believes that the private sector must put its best foot forward to provide for the disempowered sections,'' he said.
Replying to a question,he said Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath must have echoed the same veiws as held by the Congress on the subject.
