Next hearing in Prof Sabharwal's murder case on November 22
Ujjain, MP, Nov 17 (UNI) A local court today fixed November 22 as the next date for hearing in Professor H S Sabharwal's murder case.
The Madhya Pradesh government had ordered a CID inquiry into the murder of Prof Sabharwal, who died on August 26 after being allegedly beaten up by ABVP activists, who were protesting against his decision to cancel the Madhav College Student Union poll following allegations of irregularities.
On October 13, the CID had filed the charge sheets against ABVP activists Shashi Ranjan Akela, Vimal Tomar, Pankaj Mishra, Vishal Rajoria, Hemant Dubey and Sudhir Yadav.
For replying to an appeal filed by Prof Sabharwal's son Himanshu under section 173(8) of the CrPC, the defence sought time saying the lawyers would visit Jabalpur and Indore.
Accepting the demand, District Sessions Judge A K Sharma fixed November 22 as the next date for hearing in the case.
All the accused were presented before the court amid tight security.
Earlier, the court had fixed November 17 for hearing on the defence's request for more time.
