Naxals kill one in Gadchiroli district
Nagpur, Nov 17 (UNI) Suspected naxalites hacked one person to death, suspecting him to be a police informer, in a jungle in Gadchiroli district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra late last night.
A group of about 20 armed men stormed into the house of Wasudeo Hedo (35) in Jabtalai village in Dhanora tehsil of the district, Superintendent of Police Shirish Jain said.
They dragged Wasudeo and his elder brother Raju (43) to a nearby jungle and beat them up. The naxalites then slit Wasudeo's throat with a sharp instrument, Jain said.
Raju, however, was released. He fled from the jungle and lodged a complaint with the police this morning. Wasudeo's body was recovered today.
