MP BJS executive meeting tomorrow
Jabalpur, Nov 17 (UNI) The Bharatiya Jan Shakti's two-day Madhya Pradesh executive meeting will get underway here tomorrow.
''The meeting will begin at 1100 hrs. BJS President Uma Bharti will reach here by train in afternoon to take part in the meeting,'' BJS General Secretary Prahlad Patel told reporters here today.
''On the first day, deliberations will take place on membership campaign and organisational issues. After lunch recess, issues of economic policies, agriculture, increasing incidents of crime and other political issues will be discussed,'' he said.
The last session on the first day will be an open session and information will be provided regarding forthcoming agitation.
He said 190 office-bearers will take part in the meeting, which will conclude on the next day with Ms Bharti's address.
Later, the BJS President will address a public meeting at Super Bazar near Malviya Chowk in the evening.
Replying to a question, Mr Patel said the BJS had not lost in the recently held Vidisha and Bada Malehra by-elections but its base was known.
He pointed out that the BJS candidate got a large share of votes polled. This was the reason that the BJP, which had won the seat during December 2003 election by a margin of more than 2.50 lakh votes, could not secure even 2.50 lakh votes.
He alleged that the ruling BJP misused the government machinery to win the by-poll.
He said Mr Vasudev Atut had been nominated BJS candidate for the December 4 Pandhana by-poll and claimed that the BJP will not be allowed to misuse government machinery.
