Mismanagement of Kalighat temple fund alleged
Kolkata, Nov 17 (UNI) A committee to oversee the famed Hindu temple at Kalighat submitted a report before Calcutta High Court today highlighting mismanagement of fund.
The committee comprising district judges, temple priests and government officials held that there was no accounts of more than Rs 30 lakh.
The temple authorities repeatedly asked about the money, but they remained silent.
The committee also pointed out mismanagement of the temple affairs, including reining in the pandas ruling the roost in the temple.
Earlier, the High Court ruled that the pandas of the temple should not be allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorium and take part in any activities of the temple.
