Mirwaiz welcomes resumption of India-Pakistan talks

Srinagar, Nov 17 (UNI) Hurriyat Conference (moderate faction) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today expressed the hope that the resumption of dialogue process between India and Pakistan will help in finding a final solution to the contentious Kashmir issue.

Addressing a Friday congregation at the historic Jamia Mosque here on his return from Cairo, he said the world community was seriously concerned over the alleged human rights violations by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Mirwaiz was accorded a rousing welcome by the Hurriyat (moderate) and the Awami Action Committee (AAC) activists at the airport here on his return from the Egyptian capital where he had gone to attend an international conference on Science and World Affairs, organised by Pugwash, a nobel prize-winning non-governmental organisation.
