Mann for Sonia's intervention in turban ban issue by France

Jalandhar, Nov 17 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president and former MP Simranjit Singh Mann has urged Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to take up with France the issue of French Governemnt's ban on wearing turban by Sikh students in that country.

Talking to reporters here today, Mr Mann said Ms Gandhi during her recent visit to Belgium did not raise the demand of lifting the ban imposed by French Government on wearing turban.

Mr Mann alleged that the Sikh issues were not represented well by the present regime at the Centre.

He also urged the Centre to raise with the visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao, the issue of recovery of Indian territory in Ladakh which was captured by China in 1962.
