Life in prison for three in a kidnapping case

Patna, Nov 17 (UNI) A local sessions court today awarded life imprisonment to three people in addition to fine of Rs 4000 each in connection with a case of kidnapping for ransom.

Additional district and sessions judge Ramanuj Prasad Singh found the accused - Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Mukesh kumar and Nitish Kumar - gulity in the case.

The accused, the residents of Nalanda district, had demanded ransom for the safe release of the abducted.

Akash Kumar Gupta, a five year oold boy was kidnapped from Rupaspur village of Danapur police station of the district on October 6, 2005.

A ransom of Rs 25 lakh was demanded by the convicts for the safe realease of the victim.

The boy was recovered safely by police from Birsa Chowk of Ranchi on October 18, 2005. The boy, a resident of Delhi, came here with his parents to attend a family function.
