Kidnapped Anant recovered from Noida border
Noida/Lucknow, Nov 17 (UNI) In a dramatic turn of events, Anant, the three-year-old son of Adobe India Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Naresh Gupta, abducted from his posh Sector 15 A residence in Noida on Monday last, was recovered from Noida-Bulandshahar border this morning.
The abducted child was rescued safely following a joint operation by the Noida Police and the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police, the district police chief of Gautam Budh Nagar R K S Rathore told UNI over the phone.
He said some arrests were being made in this connection.
''The child is in good health and has been handed over to his parents,'' the SSP said.
According to reports, the ransom of unspecified amount was demanded for the safe release of Anant but it was still unclear whether the amount was paid.
The family of the child have been tight-lipped over the demand of ransom. ''My son is back...I thank all of you for your support.
I would not say anything now,'' Mr Gupta told reporters at his residence, which has now been converted into a fortress.
Anant was abducted by two motor-cycle borne youths soon after he, along with a maid, left house to board the school bus.
Besides the maid, the security guard of the Guptas was the main eyewitness.
The STF had suspected the role of a Ghazipur-based gang behind the abduction. The assistance of Gwalior police was also sought after leads indicated that a gang of Chambal could also be behind the crime.
Meanwhile, senior zonal and range officers have reached Noida.
