Kapil tees off with TaylorMade Schools Academy students
Bangalore, Nov 17 (UNI) TaylorMade-adidas Golf, world's leading golf club manufacturer, today organised 'Invitational Skins Challenge', a corporate golf tournament played in skins format.
Cricket legend Kapil Dev, who was the centre of attraction, gave tips to young aspiring golfers from city schools. The clinic, organised by TaylorMade in association with Dawnay Day AV, also saw professionals giving lessons to budding golfers.
The golf tournament spanning four cities -- Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore -- was the richest amateur golf event in India, offering prizes worth over Rs 40 lakhs. The tournament also featured a parallel event for under-18 years for the title of Junior Champion, which carried a trophy and golf equipment from TaylorMade.
Later, launching a new club L7 iron, Kapil said evey school in the country should give maximum support to sports activities. They should also ensure that every student played some sport or the other. ''Life is a unique game. Playing against oneself and winning is the motto. Sports help children in becoming better citizens,'' he added.
