Kannada flick 'Cyanide' to be remade in Hindi, Tamil

Bangalore, Nov 17 (UNI) Popular Kannada blockbuster 'Cyanide', which earned appreciation from both film critics and viewers, will soon be remade in Hindi, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Nana Patekar, and Tamil.

Speaking to newspersons on the sidelines of the Indo-German Film Festival here today, its director Ramesh told UNI that ace Director Ram Gopal Varma had bought the rights to remake the movie, depicting the last days of the assassins of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, in Hindi.

Buoyed by the success and appreciation he got for his debut venture, he said he would himself wield the megaphone for the Tamil version. The film had received accolades in many film festivals.

About his next venture, he said he wanted to bring dreaded forest brigand Veerappan, killed in a police encounter, to the silver screen.
