JK vigilance charge-sheets Municipal officials
Srinagar, Nov 17 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation today charge-sheeted several Municipal officials here after they were caught red handed while accepting bribe.
A vigilance spokesman said the charge-sheet was produced in the court of the Special Judge Anti Corruption, Srinagar in two separate cases registered against the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) officials who were caught red handed while accepting illegal gratification.
Ghulam Jeelani Misgar, then SMC Ward Officer, Ghulam Mohammad and Abdul Hamid, SMC Buidling Inspectors, were arrested by vigilance sleuths while accepting bribe of Rs 5000 from Dr Showkat Ali Mufti, an Assistant Professor in SKIMS, on October 3 last year when they demanded bribe for allowing him to take up the construction work of his residence at Allochibagh here, he added.
Umar-ud-din Chowhan, then SMC Ward Officer, was arrested on December 27 last year while accepting bribe of Rs 2000 from Imtiyaz Ahmed Wani for removing debris near his business establishment here.
