Jansurajya-NCP candidate elected KMC Standing Committee Chairman

Kolhapur, Nov 17 (UNI) Corporator Sambhaji Jadhav, a candidate of the Jansurajya-NCP alliance was today elected as the Chairman of the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) Standing Committee.

The election to the post of Standing Committee Chairman was held on November seven in which, Jadhav polled ten votes, while rival Tararanee front candidate Praksh Mohite zero. Four corporators boycotted voting and had not participated in the process due to a court matter.

However, the election was not declared as per Bombay High Court directives as rival front challenged the two corporators' caste certificates. Two days before, the rival front withdrew their petition and the court allowed KMC to complete the election process by declaring the Standing Committee Chairman's election result, which was announced today.
