HRA accuses GAD of misutilising public money

Itanagar, Nov 17: The Human Rights of Arunachal (HRA) has accused the general administration department (GAD) for misutilising public money to the tune of more than Rs six crores.

Alleging that GAD secretary Varsha Joshi had misutilised the public money towards reimbursement of medical bills and procurement of office stationeries in the last three years, HRA had demanded her immediate resignation.

After receiving a copy from GAD's principal information officer, as demanded by the Arunachal Youth Volunteer Association (AYVA), the HRA members said about Rs two crore and Rs four crore was granted by the secretary during 2003-04 and 2004-05 against reimbursement of medical bills and purchase of stationeries.

However, there were no records of the bill copies of the said expenditure, it added.
