Highest child labourers identified in AP

Tirupati, Nov 19 (UNI) ILO-IPEC-APSBP Project Director K Krishna Murthy today said the highest number of child labourers were identified at Kurnool and Mahaboobnagar in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking at the two-day capacity building workshop for Trade Union leaders of Chittoor, Kadapa and Anantapur, organised by ILO here, Mr Murthy stressed the need to work in informal and un-organised sectors by trade unions where the child labour was present in a large numbers.

Six trade unions affiliated to different political parties were working for the elimination of child labour, he said it was necessary to identify the urban like Hyderabad as a district for eliminating child labour in urban areas through developments.
