Gulf Air flight delayed after bomb hoax

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 17 (UNI) A Gulf Air flight bound for Muscat from here was delayed for over five hours following an anonymous call that a bomb had been placed on board.

A thorough search by security personnel revealed the call was a hoax.

Airport authorities received a call this morning that a bomb had been placed on the Gulf Air flight, sources said.

Security was tightened at the airport following the call, they said and added that the dog squad was already at the airport and local police were also helping airport security.

Passengers were thoroughly frisked and vehicles allowed to park only at a distance, they said.

No other flights were delayed.
