Kerala: Gulf Air delayed after bomb threat
Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 17: A flight of the Gulf Air bound for Muscat from here was delayed for more than five hours following an anonymous call to warn that a bomb has been placed in the flight, but a thorough search by security personnel turned it to be a hoax.
Airport authorities received a call in the morning that a bomb had been placed in the Gulf Air flight which later turned to be a hoax, sources said.
Security had been tightened at the airport following the anonymous call, they said and added that the dog squad was already at the airport and the local police were also helping the airport security.
The passengers were thoroughly frisked and vehicles allowed only to park at a distance, they said.
Meanwhile, other flights had not been delayed, they said.
