Governor seeks report on attack on Uma
Bhopal, Nov 17 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar has directed the state government to get an inquiry conducted into the alleged attack on Bharatiya Jan Shakti President Uma Bharti during Malehra by-poll by the Additional Director General of Police (CID) Vijay Raman and sought a report in this regard.
Rajbhawan sources said Ms Bharti and other BJS leaders had submitted a memorandum to Dr Jakhar regarding alleged attack on her and misuse of government machinery during the by-poll on November 13.
The Governor has asked the government to get the matter inquired by Addtl DGP (CID) Vijay Raman since Ms Bharti was a former Chief Minister and 'Sadhvi'.
Ms Bharti had alleged she was attacked at Serora village in Chhatarpur district at the fag end of polling and had raised a finger on Chhatarpur Superintendent of Police Chanchal Shekhar saying the attack was carried out at the instance of the administrative machinery.
The by-poll to Malehra seat was necessitated due to Ms Bharti's resignation from the seat after the BJS was formed following her expulsion from the BJP.
