Global L'Oreal e-Strat Academic Challenge begins at IIM-I

Indore, Nov 17 (UNI) The seventh edition of the six-month-long 'Global L'Oreal e-Strat Academic Challenge', one of the biggest online business simulation games, has commenced at the Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM-I).

In its first six editions, the event has witnessed participation from over 1,32,000 students from 2,190 schools from across 125 countries.

IIM Indore is the only institute to bag the exclusive privilege to host the academic challenge simultaneously for two years now.

Last year, L'Oreal India Managing Director Didier Villanueva kick started the 2005 edition at IIM-I.

The event -- from November 2006 to April 2007 -- is hosted under the auspices of the Entrepreneurship and Consulting (E&C) Club. As last year, Professor M Scalem, faculty guide of E&C club, is again the coordinator of the L'Oreal Academic Challenge 7th edition.

''We are happy to be associated with the global event, which is recognised to be one of the highest quality competitions,'' Prof Scalem said.
