Gang arrested, jewels recovered

Rajahmundry, Nov 17 (UNI) Police arrested a nine-member gang involved in burglary and theft at Gokavaram and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs seven lakh, last night.

The gang was involved in ten crimes in Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari districts and union territory Yanam, East Godavari Superintendent of Police B Srinivasalu told the reporters today.

The police raided the house of gang leader Kukkula Pochaiah last night and arrested eight gang members and recovered gold ornaments and silver articles.

Later, two persons who used to buy gold from the gang, also were arrested.
