Dismissed staff reinstated
Puducherry, Nov 17 (UNI) The Centrally-administered JIPMER hospital has reinstated five employees terminated for taking part in the recent 22-day strike, following court directions.
The employees rejoined duty today.
JIPMER staff had gone on strike protesting against the Centre's move to convert JIPMER into an autonomous institution. The JIPMER administration had suspended over 50 employees and dismissed five.
While the suspension was revoked after the strike was called off, the restitution of five employees who were yet to complete one year service was done only after court orders.
