DD Punjabi programmes to be released in UK

Jalandhar, Nov 17 (UNI) The DDPunjabi programmes' telecast through DTH and Cable network will be launched in the United Kingdom (UK) from January 26 next, Doordarshan Director General Liladhar Mandloi said today.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Mandloi said Doordarshan had forged a tie-up with the UK-based firm for this purpose through global tenders.

He said even today signals of the channel were available in the UK and 143 other countries and the programmes were seen by people in small pockets.

With the new arrangement the programmes would be available readily on DTH and Cable network.

He said efforts for similar arrangments for telecast of the programmes in the United States were on.

He said DD Punjabi channel was one of the most popular regional channels of Doordarshan.
