Court summons DIG and SP Muzaffarpur in abduction case

Patna, Nov 17( UNI) Patna High Court today summoned Deputy Inspector General(DIG) Gupteshwar Pandey and Police Superintendent Ratna Sanjay of Muzaffarpur in connection with the kidnapping of a student Pallavi Priya.

While hearing a writ filed by the mother of the abducted girl, a Division Bench comprising Justice Narayan Rai and Justice Abhijeet Sinha summoned both the officers and asked them to appear before the court on November 22 and state why the abducted girl had not been rescued and the accused not arrested even after 11 months.

Priya was abducted by some identified crimnals when she was on way to her school on December 23, 2005 in Muzaffarpur.

The petitioner in the criminal writ had alleged that one of the accused Anil Singh had not been arrested despite a non-bailable arest warrant issued in March this year.
