CM assures to assist in digitalising newspapers

Hyderabad, Nov 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today assured the Andhra Pradesh Press Academy that the government would provide necessary financial assistance to digitalise the newspapers to incorporate in the Website of Press Academy.

Launching the Andhra Pradesh Press Academy Website 'www.pressacademy.in' this evening, he underlined the need for digitalising the newspapers for the use of future generation and for background materials.

He said information in the website would increase the knowledge of the subject and asked the authorities of the academy to maintain properly by updating it regularly.

He asked the Information Commissioner and Academy officials to send a proposal for immediate assistance and also for budget allocation in the next budget.

Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Press Academy Devulapalli Amar said the Academy had taken up several programmes for young journalists to improve the standards in journalism. Efforts were being made to prepare the subject-wise and author-wise index classification of the magazines already secured, he added.
