Centre gives forest clearance for Gorakallu reservoir, canals

New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) The Centre has accorded final forest clearance to Gorakallu, Owk reservoirs and canals under the Srisailam Right Bank Canal.

Andhra Pradesh Special Representative Ravi Mallu said the Ministry of Environment and Forests has accorded final Forest clearance for the Gorakallu, Owk reservoirs and SRBC canals in the Kurnool district.

The clearance follows the ''satisfactory compliance'' by the State Government of conditions mentioned at the time of initial forest clearance. An estimated 883.416 hectares of forestland is to be diverted for the project work.
