BJP flays Cong demand for President's Rule
Kohima, Nov 17 (UNI) Nagaland unit of Bharatiya Janata Party today assailed the Congress' demand of President's Rule in the state saying it is not a solution at this juncture when the ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) was working towards the development and restoration of peace.
State BJP State general secretary Eduzu T Vadeo, in a release here said in a meeting of the state BJP here on November 15 it was resolved that the factional clashes were due to defective Ground Rules in the Cease-fire Agreement.
He also urged the Congress leaders to cooperate with them while the Centre should rectify the rules at the earliest instead of criticising the DAN government.
Mr Vadeo expressed satisfaction over the performance of DAN government in various developmental activities, restoration of peace and implementation of the Common Minimum Programme (CMP).
The meeting reviewed the issues concerning the organisation and also welcomed Rajiv Pratap Ruddy, in-Charge of state BJP, who had assured to visit the state on November 21 for to oversee the party activities in the state.
The meeting also observed a two-minute silence as a mark of resiet to the BJP leader A Lakiumong who passed away at New Delhi recently.
