Anant reaches home safe and sound, 3 arrested
Noida, Nov 17 (UNI) Drawing curtains on the five-day ordeal, Adobe India CEO Naresh Gupta's son Anant, kidnapped on November 13, reached his home here safely today even as three people were arrested in the case.
A joint team of Uttar Pradesh Police and Special Task Force got the child released from the kidnappers near Bhulandshar-Noida border at about 1130 hrs, said Inspector General of Police (Meerut Range) N B Singh.
''The three arrested are being questioned. The 3-year-old Anant underwent a medical check-up.'' Refusing to elaborate on the 'operation' which led to the child's release, Mr Singh said the details would be disclosed at the press conference scheduled for evening.
Meanwhile, Anant's father Naresh Gupta told mediapersons that his family was in constant touch with the abductors all through the nearly five-day 'ordeal'. ''About a dozen-odd calls were received during this period by us from them where they demanded Rs 60 lakh as ransom.'' However, no money was paid to the abductors, he added.
Thanking the police and the administation for their ''unstinted support'' Mr Gupta said he was satisfied with the ''entire operation''.
Earlier, police had said the three-year-old child was released at Delhi's Apollo Hospital at about 1130 hrs by his kidnappers and a three-wheeler autorickshaw driver brought him home.
The UP Police and the STF was being supported by the Delhi Police, it had said.
Three-year-old Anant was on his way to his school on November 13 with his maid when two motorcycle-borne youth abducted him from outside his residence in the posh Sector 15-A of the township.
