9-year-old filmmaker excels in governance too
Chennai, Nov 17 (UNI) Nine-year-old Kishan Srikanth, the youngest film director in the world, has bowled over five-time Chief Minister and octogenarian leader M Karunanidhi with his knowledge not only in the art of filmmaking but also on governance.
The boy from Karnataka, who had entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest film director, for making the film 'C/O Footpath,' called on Mr Karunanidhi at his residence here yesterday.
Mr Karunanidhi, who enquired about Kishan's experiences, recounted the meeting with the young filmmaker in his letter to party cadres today.
He was told about an incident in the shooting spot where Kishan was filming a scene involving popular actor Jackie Shroff, he said.
When Kishan wanted to reshoot a scene, the actor who was playing the role of Chief Minister in the film, demanded the reason.
Kishan had said ''as per the script, you are a Chief Minister.
How can you sign the file, given to you, without going through it? It will not be realistic.'' Mr Karunanidhi said though it might look like a small incident, it was a thought-provoking one.
While Kishan had reshot the scene, stressing that files should be signed only after going through them, people of Tamil Nadu had removed a government itself for not clearing files, he said in an apparent reference to former Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa.
The Chief Minister had alleged that the Jayalalithaa government had left hundreds of files, even important ones, uncleared.
