3 weeks to Integration Council for verification of statements

Lucknow, Nov 17 (UNI) Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court today granted three weeks time to the National Integration Council of the Union Home Ministry for the examination and rectification of the witnesses' statement in Ayodhya civil suit being heard in the Court.

The order was passed by a Division Bench comprising Justices S R Alam, Bhanwar Singh and O P Srivastava.

Submitting an affidavit in the High Court, Council Director O P Mahe said several errors in the English translation of witnesses' statement had come to notice and that all necessary steps were being taken in this regard.

Mr Mahe claimed an appropriate agency to examine and verify the translated statements was being ascertained, so that rectified copies of the same may be submitted in the Court.

The Council has been directed to submit the rectified copies of the statements after three weeks.
