11 candidates file nomination papers for Manihari seat

Patna, Nov 17 (UNI) With ten candidates filing their nomination papers on the last day today, altogether 11 candidates filed their candidature for the December four byelections to Manihari Assembly seat.

Sources at the state election office said here that Congress nominee Hamid Mubarak also filed his nomination paper today.

JD(U) leader Vishwanath Singh filed his nomination paper yesterday, sources added.

Scrutiny would take place on November 18.

The last date for withdrawal is November 20.

Polling is slated on December 4 and counting of votes would take place on December 7.

The byelection was necessitated following the death of Congress MLA from Manihari Mubarak Hussain.
