Yatra was govt's show and not of Cong: Amarinder
Jalandhar, Nov 16 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has dismissed opposition Shiromani Akali Dal's (SAD) criticism of his Punjab Vikas Yatra and said that the prgramme was that of the Punjab government and not of the Congress party.
Talking to reporters at Shahkot in Kapurthala district near here, Capt Singh said that he was performing his government's responsibility through the 'yatra' by informing people of his government's achievements and goals. That is his duty as well as his right.
Earlier addressing a rally, the chief minister said that the second phase of the 'yatra' would begin from Shamsingh Attari village in Amritsar on November 22.
Capt Singh said that the 'yatra' would remain in Majha, Doaba and Malwa regions for three days each.
He said that the first phase of his yatra concluded last week was very successful and the people's response to the yatra was very encouraging.
He said that this response was a reflection of people's endorsement to his government's pro-people and development-oriented policies.
