Vijaya Bank to have 1,000 branches by March 2007
Hubli, Nov 16 (UNI) Nationalised Bank Vijaya Bank proposed to open more branches to take its total number of branches to 1,000 by March 2007, Bank Chairman and Managing Director Prakash Mallya said today.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the Reserve Bank of India had accorded sanction for the same. The branches would be opened in Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and in the North-East.
Mr Mallya said he hoped to get permission from the RBI and others concerned to open the bank's branches in Dubai and Hong Kong by next year. It was also proposed to increase the number of ATMs from the present 160 to 250.
To a question, he said the bank proposed to do a business of Rs 60,000 crore by the end of the current financial year and achieve a net profit of Rs 176 crore.
