US to continue supporting Nepal even as Maoists join govt: Boucher

Kathmandu, Nov 16 (UNI) The United States assistance to Nepal would continue even after the Maoists join the interim government, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Richard A Boucher, has said.

Mr Boucher, who is here for a two-day visit to the Himalayan nation, said, '' I have come here to acquire information on the ongoing peace process in Nepal and contemporany topics, including the outcome of the peace process.'' He said the broad outlook on the Bhutanese refugees and other topics would emerge out only after a discussion with the Nepal Government, the political parties and the sides concerned.

''The Bhutanese refugees issue would be resolved after 60,000 such refugees will be taken to the United States as mentioned earlier,'' the state-run The Rising Nepal quoted him as saying.
