Two NDFB militants killed in Asom
Diphu, Nov 16 (UNI) Security forces killed two suspected NDFB militants at Dokmoka outpost under Howraghat police station in Karbi Anglong district of Asom today.
Police informed that the incident occurred near Manikpur locality at 1430 hours when the police patrol party signalled three youths, riding a motor bike, to stop.
The youths, suspected to be NDFB militants, hurled two grenades at the police party, forcing the latter to retaliate. Two ultras were killed, while the third managed to escape.
However, there were no injuries on the police side.
The bike had been seized, police said.
The three militants were involved in the killing of two former Bodo Liberation Tiger (BLT) cadres three months ago near the locality, police stated.
The National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) was in a ceasefire agreement with the government, though allegations of its cadres flouting truce ground rules were regularly received.
