Two CPI (M) activists killed in West bengal

Midnapore/Purulia, Nov 16 (UNI) Binoy Mandi, a CPI (M) activist was today gunned down in Bansar village under Jamboni PS by Jharkhand Party supporters.

Police confirming this said three people were arrested.

They were stated to be JKP supporters and a revolver and several rounds of bullets were recovered from them.

Mandi was going to Gidhni Railway station to receive a letter of appointment from railway authorities, police added. He was due to join in the post of his father who died in harness recently.

Mandi was brought down from his cycle by four or five masked miscreants who pumped 3 rounds in his body from close, police said.

CPM will observe a protest day tomorrow in Jamboni Block, Dipak Sarkar, District CPM secretary said.

Meanwhile, in another incident another CPI (M) local committee secretary was choped to death by his brother in Bundwan areas of Purulia district.

CPI (M) local committee secretary Khagen Murmu was chopped by his brother Bhajan, who is said to be mentally challenged, police.

CPI (M) will observe a 12-hour bandh in Bundwan areas of the district tomorrow.
