Tension in AP town as a place of worship is demolished
Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 16 (UNI)Tension prevailed in Tadipatri town in Anantapur district following the demolition of a place of worship for widening a road and a clash in which bombs were hurld.
Municipal authorities started demolition of a place of worship when followers of the religion which the place of worship represented, pelted stones on them.They also burnt the proclain machine that was being used for the demolition.
Meanwhile, followers of Municipal Vice-Chairman Prabhakara Reddy came to the spot and were engaged in an argument with the followers.
Both the groups hurled stones at each other.
Police rushed to the scene and dispersed the clashing groups.
Police said the situation was brought under control.
